In a sea of green, we found our Pearl.
Our third of four amazing coffees from Nicaragua, provided by our friends at Gold Mountain Coffee Growers.
Pearl is a special Micro-lot coffee from Josefina & Mario Gonzalez and their family farm deep in the Jinotega region. They've lived on their corner of the mountain since 1985.
Our Friends at Gold Mountain hike to their farm every picking season, staying
there until each pass of picking is finished. When we spoke with Ben from Gold Mountain about how we could help some of the farmers he works with, he had mentioned that Josefina and Mario could use a more modern de-pulper to help process more of their coffee. We purchased one for them and the Gold Mountain crew took on the challenge to get the de-pulper to them!
The coffee from El Divino Niño has very solid stone fruit and milk chocolate tasting notes. Malic acidity but very smooth, think apricots or white peaches, and a luscious silky body. We love it, and will continue to support Josefina and Mario, as well as bring in their coffee as a constant offering.
